Areas of Interest

I am interested in Fes inhibitors developed in our lab and how they can become treatments for AML.

Why I Chose Pitt

I chose the University of Pittsburgh because of its collaborative nature and the large amount of translational research being done here.  Also, I really enjoyed everyone that I met on my interview weekend and I really enjoyed the city of Pittsburgh!

Following his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Weir remained in the lab of his mentor, Dr. Tom Smithgall, as a postdoctoral associate before moving on to EMD Serono, Inc. in Massachusetts.
