Research Summary
Dr. Li has conducted research on the pathogenesis of C. perfringens diseases originating in the intestines since 2005. During these six years, she completed one four-year USDA grant (Molecular Epidemiology of CPE-Associated Food Poisoning, January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2008) and also worked on two other on-going NIH grants (The Mechanism of Action of Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin and Virulence Plasmids of Clostridium perfringens type B-D). Now she is working on a MARCE grant to study the action of epsilon toxin, a class B select toxin. Her work has produced 19 publications on C. perfringens, of which ten involve first authorship.
