Current areas of research include Host-Pathogen Interactions, Viral/Bacterial Co-Infection Synergy, and Innate Immunity, particularly in chronic respiratory infection.

Other areas of interest include Emerging Infectious Diseases, Complex Adaptive Systems, Public Health Preparedness and Pandemic/Outbreak Response.
